After renting the old town house for 2 years, we all had enough of it and eager to have our own place to call home. End of Sept of 2008, we decide to start our house hunting .
House hunting wasn't fun, especially we had to drive back and forth from NJ to MD constantly, we were not very keen on it. And most of the time, we can't find a good enough house in our price range, and there were times we like certain houses and were in our price range, but they would be sold before we can even touch it, and left us heart broken. At one point, I felt we just don't have enough money to get a right house this year, about to give up and wait till next year. I know, as a christian (not a very good one tho >_<), I should have faith, our right house is out there, but at that moment we really don't know where and when, and it was very very frustrating.
Way before we start house hunting, I had a dream house in my mind, a large country style kitchen, a morning room with huge eyebrow windows, a walking closet so big that I can even take a nap in it, a large master bedroom to have small sofa beside the bed, and a beautiful mediterranean style master bathroom, def. a night club/ bar fun basement. The yard? Of course has to have a free style shape swimming pool and lots space for kids to run around.
We all know now we found a place and moved in already, is it my DREAM HOUSE? Not quit,in deed, it is far from the dream house; the kitchen has the green counter top that I dislike, there is no fire place in the living room, the walking closet is a bit too small, bathroom vanity is also a bit small. And the previous owner loves GOLD, the door knobs are GOLD, and the shower door frame, bathtub and sink faucets are ALL GOLD. Unfortunately they are not real gold( I would not cry about if they were real for sure), just the gold color, yuk!!!
Why did I pick this house after all it has nothing to do with my dream house? Well, first of all, it was in our budget, (the dream house FOR SOME REASONS was not, lol), it is not that old, and it has a fenced in back yard, so Isabelle can finally get a dog. Behind the back yard, we have a good amount of trees to keep us private, and even tho we don't have huge bedrooms, but we don't have one of those useless small bedroom call the 4th one either. We have a unfinished basement and we are working on it right now, the basement is only half in ground which is great, that will help to keep the basement dry and bright. Best of all, it has more then 120 houses in this neighborhood, we figure there should at least be one child at Isabelle's age and can play with her.
After all, with Isabelle's approval, we decide to get this house, and move in to this neighborhood. Finally we have our own place to call home.
